September is going to be an eventful month! There is certainly something to entertain everyone. Not only do Charleston Restaurant Week and Charleston Beer Week overlap but top performers will be in town as part of festivals, such as the Lowcountry Jazz Festival this Labor Day weekend, and in solo acts, such as comedian Aziz Ansari, Reese Witherspoon, Sarah McLachlan and Jay Leno, to name a few.

The Charleston Boat Show Sets Record

2018 Charleston Boat ShowLowcountryBizSC reports that the 2018 Charleston Boat Show, scheduled for January 26-28 at the Charleston Area Convention Center, has set a new record in space booking. 

"Each year the Charleston Boat Show attracts between 10,000-11,000 people. There will be 125 exhibiting companies at the show this year, with 35 boat dealerships represented. There will be more than 85 different boat brands on-site.

The show is known for family fun as well as educational seminars, including the Coastal Fishing Expo, sponsored by Coastal Carolina Fisherman. This year’s schedule includes lots of fishing classes by the best captains, kids’ activities like face-painting, SCDNR Boating Simulator, Turtle Putt...

March is here but it felt like spring all through February. The azaleas and camellias are already in bloom, as temperatures were in the 70’s most of last month. March features the Wine and Food Festival, the Charleston Fashion Week and the beginning of the Flowertown Festival in Summerville. The 70th Festival of House and Gardens begins on the 16th and runs until April 22. And don’t forget the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 1st.

Charleston, SC, December 22, 2016 – Hungry individuals living East of the Cooper will enjoy more than 1,000 meals thanks to an early December food drive sponsored by The Alan Donald Team at Keller Williams Realty. The blitz has raised 1,230 pounds of food for the East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) warehouse to serve hungry Mount Pleasant residents.

ECCO Holiday Food DriveCharleston, SC, November 28, 2016 – No one in Mt. Pleasant should go hungry, especially during the holiday season. So the Alan Donald Team, working with East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO), is sponsoring a food drive December 5-18.

The Food Drive is focused on the Belle Hall neighborhood, where Alan and his team are well-known for helping connect buyers and sellers on their American Dreams. An anonymous donor has agreed to match the first 40 pounds of food donated.

Have Fun in Charleston, SC!

Lucero in CharlestonOctober is here and cooler weather is on the way! Our fall weather is spectacular, with temperatures mostly in the 70’s. Oyster roasts are back in season, top performers are stopping by and local breweries are showcasing their best Fall beers.

In addition to college football season (the Lowcountry is divided between Tiger and Gamecock fans) there’s also a full slate of activity at the North Charleston Coliseum/Performing Arts Center and the Charleston Music Hall. Charleston has been voted (AGAIN) #1 City in the World by Travel and Leisure Magazine!

Our area is growing 3 times faster than the average for the U.S. with 48 new people moving to the tri-county area every day!

We have 744,000 people living in our metro area, with a median age of 36.5 years. The average household income is $75,000/year.

2015 was a great year here in Charleston and 2016 is going to be even better!

There are lots of ways to ring in the new year, hope you had your collard greens and hoppin’ john on New Years Day for a year of good luck and lots of money.

You can have some of the best fried chicken in the US at either Jestine’s or Husk according to Travel and Leisure Magazine. They also said that Hominy Grill has the best biscuit in the US.

Of course, January is also a great time to catch the Stingrays playing Hockey at the North Charleston Coliseum.

The holiday season is upon us! We had 70 degree and beautiful weather for Thanksgiving. It’s often the same for Christmas, but there’s always a chance for a cold snap.

There will be all sorts of holiday parades and Christmas tree lightings. And of course the James Island County Park’s 26th Annual Festival of Lights has already started and will run through New Year’s Day. The Gaillard Auditorium has been completely renovated and they say that the acoustics are world class...

Charleston Steeplechase CupNovember is here and we didn’t have any hurricanes!! We did have a tornado and a lot of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Patricia. But Charleston has weathered the storm nicely, as always.

The weather is incredible right now. The humidity has gone and we’re in the 70’s during the day and the 50’s at night. The Coastal Carolina Fair starts October 31st and lasts through November 8th. That is usually the locals’ sign for a cold snap. We’ll see, as we didn’t have one last year. Disney on Ice will be at the N Charleston PAC from the 19th-22nd. The Charleston International Film Festival is also going on at the Charleston ...
