We're thrilled to report that after such an “event-ful” April, the festivals continue into May! There’s the 39th Annual North Charleston Arts Fest (4th-8th), 51st Annual Charleston Greek Festival (6th-8th), McClellanville’s 44th Annual Lowcountry Shrimp Festival and Blessing of the Fleet (7th), Mead-ival Festival (21st), 11th Annual Charleston Food Truck Festival (21st-22nd), Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto Festival (both 27th - June 12th). There’s also a great array of events for everyone and many local farmers markets to check out. This may be the most “event-full” month we’ve ever come across in the Charleston area! There are at least 17 - Yes, 17! - festivals, three major sporting events and a myriad of events and activities catering to all interests, not to mention the return of most of our seasonal farmers markets. It’s March - Women’s History Month and Irish American Heritage Month - and spring is in the Charleston air! Mardi Gras wraps up on the 1st and don't forget about March Madness and Daylight Savings Time (begins on the 13th when clocks spring forward). We have two very long-standing annual events taking place in Charleston this month: the 75th Annual Festival of Houses & Gardens hosted by the Historic Charleston Foundation (3/16-4/9) and the Garden Club of Charleston’s 86th Annual House & Garden Tour (3/24-3/26). February has arrived and we have so much going on this month in the Charleston area and in general!  It’s Black History Month, Chinese New Years is being celebrated on the 1st and it will be the Year of the Tiger, Groundhog Day follows on the 2nd, Valentine's Day is on the 14th, the Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition (SEWE) runs from the 17th to the 21st, Presidents’ Day is observed on the 21st this year, the Charleston Comedy Festival returns this year from the 23rd to the 26th, and Mardi Gras continues through the month culminating on March 1st. ’Tis the season of celebrations! This month, Chanukah ends on the 6th, Christmas is on the 25th, Kwanzaa begins on the 26th and New Year’s Eve rings out the year on the 31st. To help us partake, many Charleston-area municipalities and others are hosting holiday events such as concerts and performances, holiday markets, parades and tree lightings. Plus, we’re in the midst of oyster roast season! We’ve listed many weekly and individual events below and provided links so you can find out more. November is going to be a busy month! Several local area municipalities have elections on the 2nd, clocks turn back an hour when Daylight saving time ends on the 7th, Veterans Day is on the 11th (although the parade in downtown Charleston will be on the 6th) and Thanksgiving will be celebrated on the 25th this year. The Charleston area also has a few annual fairs and festivals happening this month, like the 8th Annual Charleston Beer Week (1st-7th), the 2021 Coastal Carolina Fair (1st-7th), the 2021 Blues Festival (20th) and more!


There’s also a variety of sports, entertainment and other special events taking place as well as the continuation of several area farmers markets. Run...

It’s September and with that comes the Labor Day long weekend (4th-6th) and cooling temperatures. We also have some great events to look forward to, including the Lowcountry Jazz Festival (3rd-5th), Charleston Restaurant Week (9th-19th), the Summerville Sweet Tea Festival (18th), the 44th Annual Cooper River Run (25th), the new High Tide Music Festival (25th) and the 8th Annual Summerville Italian Festival (26th). Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer (7/3 to 8/11), the hottest and steamiest part of summer and named for when Sirius, the Dog Star, typically rises at the same time as the Sun. July is also recognized as National Ice Cream Month, National Park and Recreation Month, National Picnic Month and National Watermelon Month. Of course, the big holiday this month is Independence Day on the 4th, with celebrations planned across the Lowcountry and the return of fireworks displays for most (not all) local municipalities. Plus, the 65th Annual Beaufort Water Festival runs for 10 days starting on the 16th and the 17th Annual Sweetgrass Festival will be held on the 24th in Mount Pleasant. Welcome to June, the month of graduations, the start of summer vacation (and the Atlantic hurricane season) and the return of summer camps! Holidays this month include National Trails Day (5th), Flag Day (14th), Juneteenth (19th) and Fathers Day (20th). St Patrick's DaySpring has sprung and so has the March events calendar, with many diverse indoor and outdoor events and organized activities on offer!  While a number of major annual events have been postponed due to COVID, Mount Pleasant's ArtFest is set for March 13th and the 74th Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens has been reimagined and will run from March 11th through August 17th!  Don't forget that clocks "spring forward" on Sunday, March 14th, that St. Patrick's Day is on the 17th, and that March is Women's History Month!  Please be sure to participate safely and to confirm whether an event is still on. Wow, what a year 2020 was due to the COVID-19 pandemic! There was some good mixed with the bad but it was definitely a year that we will always remember. We sure are glad to start anew in 2021 and look forward to getting this virus under control! There are several events this month to help bring in the new year so go out and have some fun. Please remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing. Happy Thanksgiving 2020

November is here, as is that extra hour when Daylight Savings Time ends on the 1st.  So be sure to turn those clocks back an hour and enjoy the extra time with your family and friends in the beautiful Charleston weather!  We have two important holidays this month - Veterans Day on the 11th and "Turkey Day" (or Thanksgiving as most know it) on the 26th - not to mention Election Day on the 3rd!  More and more venues are starting to open their doors to allow guests into their facilities while still following CDC guidelines, so get out and enjoy yourselves safely.  Here is our November calendar of events:
