It’s August and the Dog Days of Summer are amongst us! This month’s warm weather makes it ideal to celebrate Campfire Day (1st), National Watermelon Day (3rd), National Creamsicle Day (14th), Dog Appreciation Day (26th) and many more fun August holidays, which can be found here. What's Happening in Charleston - July 2020 Edition

This month, we celebrate Independence Day (4th), National Hot Dog Day (15th) and a host of other fun holidays.

Many facilities have now reopened and activities have resumed in the Charleston, SC area. This has been accompanied by an increase in the number of live events scheduled for the month of July, compared to recent months.

However, as the number of positive COVID-19 cases has continued to rise locally, several scheduled events have been cancelled or postponed. As for celebrating July 4th this year, the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has just issued a press release that recommends doing so safely at home.

Spring is finally here and we could not be happier about the pleasant weather, longer days and colorful blooms that it brings! We also have Easter, Passover and Earth Day to look forward to later this month! The COVID-19 pandemic that we are in the midst of has certainly created a very different and uncertain time for us.

However, respecting the social distancing guidelines, stay at home ordinances, and closure of non-essential businesses orders does not mean we have to stop enjoying ourselves. Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 3rd so don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour. If it helps, think "Spring Forward, Fall Back". Veterans Day is on the 11th and Thanksgiving will be celebrated later in the month on the 28th! The weather continues to be mild so try to get out and enjoy some of the many events scheduled for the Charleston area this month including Turkey Trots and a variety of shows.

June has arrived and so has the scorching heat! As a matter of fact, we hit the 100s in late May so get ready for a hot summer! The Spoleto Festival USA is now in full swing and you still have time to see some of the amazing and beautiful pieces. Father's Day is mid-month (16th) so don't forget to treat dad to a day of golf and celebrate him! Cooper River Bridge Run - Charleston SCSpring is here and there are lots of outdoor events and activities this April. The week-long Volvo Car Open tennis tournament on Daniel Island kicks off the month and concludes on the same weekend as the Cooper River Bridge Run and Summerville's Flowertime Festival.  The month wraps up with Mt. Pleasant's 32nd Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival.  In between, there are a host of other exhibits, expos, fairs, festivals, galas, performances, shows, sporting events, and tournaments both inside and out, not to mention Easter, Passover and Earth Day services and celebrations.  So get out there and have some fun!
