Father's Day

6-4-20 BREAKING NEWS

33rd annual Blessing of the Fleet and Seafood Festival canceled

June is here and the weather is warming up after one of the most beautiful springs Charleston has had in recent years in terms of weather.  Many facilities and operations have been re-opening, with social distancing restrictions and guidelines intended to protect us from and minimize the spread of coronavirus and COVID-19. We can now dine inside most restaurants, many with outdoor spaces added. Most attractions and outdoor venues such as parks and beaches have opened to the public and are beginning to offer programmed activities and events in June. Some indoor art and museum venues opened in late May and others will be reopening in June. A number of entertainment and performing arts venues continue to offer virtual events but remain closed to the public for live performances until at least July or August. The school year has ended and summer camps and other recreational activities are also becoming available. June is also the month in which we celebrate World Environment Day (5th), Flag Day (14th), the Summer Solstice (20th) and Father's Day (21st) and when our hurricane season starts. So get out there and have some fun!

Check out our list of in-person June events below and be sure to confirm with the venues, organizers, or promoters before attempting to attend any of them as we are still in a dynamic period with cancellations, postponements and rescheduling due to COVID-19. Refer also to our April and May Event Blogs, linked here and here, for an array of virtual and safe-at-home activities, many of which are still available.
