Events, News & Activities in Charleston, SC - July 2016 Edition

BBQ, Fireworks and Beach are what it's about in July! July is a month for vacations, tourists coming to visit the Holy City, and locals leaving to beat the heat.

But summer heat means great produce! Charleston has some great local farmer's markets where you can get yummy fruits and veggies, shrimp and boiled peanuts.

The most popular one is probably the one at Marion Square downtown each Saturday morning. There's also Monday at Freshfields at Kiawah, Tuesday at Moultrie Middle School in Mount Pleasant, Thursday at Park Circle in North Charleston, Saturday on John's Island on Maybank Highway and Sunday at the Pour House on James Island.

For something to do in the evening there is Music on the Green each Friday night and Starlight Theatre each Wednesday night, both are at Freshfields.

Every Friday night in Mount Pleasant is Party at the Point on Patriots Point; there is a different band every Friday night. And as always there is Second Sunday on King Street to enjoy. There will also be various fireworks displays all over town on and around the 4th. And of course, world-class artists are visiting our city this month including Art Garfunkel, Dave Matthews Band and America. Happy Fourth of July, y'all!
