Logistics Company Investing $9.4M to expand North Charleston Operations
Neal Brothers Charleston Inc., a global logistics company, is set to invest $9.48 million to expand its operations in Charleston County, creating 10 new jobs in the first year. The company plans to build a 100,000-square-foot facility at its existing location in North Charleston, which will increase shipping operations and serve the region’s waterfront and logistics community. Neal Brothers is a world leader in export packing, storage, freight and distribution services, as well as project shipping management. They have operated in North Charleston for over 30 years, currently employing over 100 people and serving over 300 customers. Read more here.
Summerville Medical Center Launching $67m Expansion Project
Summerville Medical Center is set to launch a $66.8 million inpatient project, adding 56 beds to meet the growing healthcare needs of the area. With completion expected in the spring of 2025, the new project will increase their licensed bed count by 40% to 174 beds, and is a continuation of the hospital's $200+ million investment to expand their facility, services and workforce in the last decade. Summerville Medical Center is a “124-bed acute-care hospital serving families in Dorchester and Berkeley counties”, and the new expansion will allow for the growth of existing programs and the addition of new services. Folly Beach among nominees for ‘Best Beach in the South’
Our very own Folly Beach is in the running for the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for best beach in the South! It was named one of 20 finalists, and one of only two South Carolina beaches to make it to the finalist round. Each beach nominee was submitted by a panel of experts and 10Best editors narrowed the submissions down to the final set of nominees.
