The Port of Charleston
The Port of Charleston consists of five terminals. Three are on the harbor and two are on the Cooper River. The port is ranked number one in customer satisfaction across North America by supply chain executives. Port activity, behind tourism, is the leading source of Charleston's revenue. The port is also ranked the fourth busiest container port on the East Coast handling more than $3 million every hour and offering direct service to more than 140 countries around the world. The 5 different terminals include:
- Columbus Street Terminal
- Union Pier Terminal
- North Charleston Terminal
- Wando Terminal
- Veterans Terminal
A new terminal is currently being built on the old Naval Base in North Charleston to provide additional space for the ever-growing Port of Charleston.
