Wakendaw Lakes is an older, more established neighborhood in Mount Pleasant, SC. The community is known for its affordable homes on the water. The main part of the subdivision was built starting in 1968. The three other subsections of Wakendaw Manor, Wakendaw East, and Wakendaw-on-the Creek were built in 1978, 1984, and 1985 respectively. Wakendaw Lakes is located on Mathis Ferry Road which is only minutes from the Cooper River Bridge and Downtown Charleston.
Most of the homes in Wakendaw Lakes are situated around small ponds or the 25-acre lake in the middle of the community. The houses range in size between 1700 sq. ft. and 3000+ sq. ft. and are priced between $300K to over $1,000,000. Many of the properties are deepwater lots, waterfront, marshfront & marshview, or lakefront.
