Longpoint was created in 1988 and has since become an established neighborhood in Mount Pleasant, SC. It sits across the creek from the historic Boone Hall Plantation off of Longpoint Rd, with direct access to I-526. The subdivision is in the catchment area of some of the best Mount Pleasant schools and has amenities including a clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, soccer field, and play area.
House sizes range anywhere from 1200 sq. ft. to just over 4000 sq. ft with larger than usual lots, priced from the mid$200's to just under $1 million. These houses are a mixture of starter homes and the larger waterfront homes which boast docks and panoramic marsh views.
Longpoint has close access to I-526 and is in close proximity to Belle Hall Shopping Center. While being close to the rest of Mount Pleasant, Longpoint is also far enough away from it all to enjoy a relaxing and secluded atmosphere.
Longpoint is also a popular choice with people who love the outdoors, due to the immediacy of Palmetto Islands County Park, located at the back of the neighborhood. This municipal 943-acre park is designed to facilitate family and group use in a nature setting and provides bicycle paths, boardwalks, picnic sites and the summer-favorite Splash Island Waterpark which provides inexpensive fun for the whole family.
