Startup Vehicle Manufacturer to Open $34M Summerville Facility 
"Honor LSV, a startup manufacturing company, will design, manufacture and assemble golf carts and luxury low-speed vehicles in Berkeley County". The company plans to invest $34 million into the project and create 65 new jobs in the Summerville area. According to South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, “This investment will bring our people even more opportunity and help continue to propel the state’s rapidly growing economy forward.” Read more here

Marvel Actor Jeremy Renner New Co-owner of Local Sweet Grass Vodka
Jeremy Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee known for his roles as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the movie The Hurt Locker, is now a co-owner of Sweet Grass Vodka and will work in partnership with its CEO, Jarrod Swanger. Sweet Grass Vodka, whose mission focuses on community and shared experience, has earned national and international awards - including a gold medal for the Best Domestic Vodka in 2022.  Renner’s long interest in distilling and launching his own brand, his celebrity status and their shared vision are a natural fit and what Swanger knows will help take the family-owned business to the next level. SC Aquarium Begins Renovations for Its New Boeing Learning Lab
In late July, the South Carolina Aquarium began renovations for their new multidisciplinary learning center, the Boeing Learning Lab at the Charleston Maritime Center. Only a short walk from the aquarium, the new Learning Lab “will comprise 8,500 square feet of educational space that includes four indoor classrooms, one open-air classroom, a broadcast studio to conduct virtual programs and office space for aquarium staff”. This Learning Lab will allow the aquarium to double the amount of students they are able to serve on a yearly basis, and according to Kevin Mills, president and CEO of the SC Aquarium, “When complete, the Boeing Learning Lab at the Charleston Maritime Center will be a beacon for inclusivity and engagement along our waterfront, serving school children with standards-based science curriculum and providing access to the waterfront for all.”. Science & Tech Company to Open Manufacturing Center in Charleston County
Leidos
, a Fortune 500 science and technology company based out of Virginia, is preparing to invest nearly $32 million in the Charleston area to launch its Security Enterprise Solutions operation, which will "produce security systems for screening checked baggage, cargo and passengers". The company plans to use 150,000 square feet of space in Ladson Industrial Park as a manufacturing center, and the investment is expected to create up to 170 new jobs.
