The island also boasts a private country club with 2 nationally recognized courses designed by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones. A 17 court tennis center with stadium court and clubhouse is located on Daniel Island and it is the home of the Family Circle Cup. The Charleston Battery, Charleston's own professional soccer team, has its stadium on Daniel Island. Daniel Island also boasts community boat ramps, public and private boat docks, crabbing docks, hundreds of acres of parks, an island nature preserve, and over 12 miles of walking and bicycle trails.
