Public Schools
By law, REALTORS are prevented from offering advice about the quality of public schools (to prevent steering). However, the South Carolina Department of Education performs an annual assessment of each school and issues annual REPORT CARDS.
The Charleston Tri-County area is divided into four school districts:
- Berkeley County - REPORT CARDS
- Charleston County - REPORT CARDS
- Dorchester II - REPORT CARDS
- Dorchester IV - REPORT CARDS
Charleston County's Academic Magnet High School was ranked in 2008 as the 7th BEST PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL in the nation by Newsweek Magazine and the 9th Best Public High School by U.S. News.
