Caring Transitions: Resources for Seniors Relocating

As Seniors Real Estate Specialists (SRES), we also provide access to ancillary resources to help our senior clients who may be downsizing, moving to another town or moving into an assisted living facility. Many seniors (and/or their children or relatives) arrive to the conclusion that a move to a new home or living facility is the best option they have to continue enjoying life.

Unfortunately, moving out of a home after living in it for many years can be a daunting experience for an elderly person, especially if they have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. More often than not, children or close relatives live far away or in another city, which makes it very hard for them to provide assistance to coordinate and execute a low-stress move.

Caring Transitions is a national franchise that is bonded and insured and specializes in helping seniors through a relocation and transition into a new place. Their services include:

1. Move preparation: Caring Transitions will assist the homeowner to plan their new home, determine which items they will keep and how they will be placed in their new home, what to dispose of, how to de-clutter and stage their home to prepare it for sale.

2. Asset Disposal: Caring Transitions will organize and execute an estate sale to dispose of any unwanted/excess items in advance of the move.

3.Move management: Caring Transitions will supervise and coordinate the packing, crating, loading, transportation, unpacking and placement of all household goods.

4. Home cleanup - Caring Transitions will ensure that the old home is emptied, broom clean and ready for its new owner.
