Belle Hall Holiday Food Drive Raises 1,230 Pounds of Food to Stock ECCO’s Pantry

That’s enough to serve more than 1,000 meals to hungry neighbors

Charleston, SC, December 22, 2016 – Hungry individuals living East of the Cooper will enjoy more than 1,000 meals thanks to an early December food drive sponsored by The Alan Donald Team at Keller Williams Realty. The blitz has raised 1,230 pounds of food for the East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) warehouse to serve hungry Mount Pleasant residents.

The Holiday Food Drive was focused on the Belle Hall Plantation neighborhood, where Alan and his team are active Realtors well-known for helping connect buyers and sellers. “My team and I truly believe that no one should ever go hungry, especially during the holidays,” Alan said.

Leveraging an offer to match the first 40 pounds donated, the team collected dozens of bags of food, enough to feed 1,000 hungry people. The drive crushed its goal by 23%.

“This is a great result,” said Paul Suchy, ECCO warehouse manager. “We’re very grateful to The Alan Donald Team and the neighbors of Belle Hall Plantation for their generosity. We couldn’t meet the growing demand for help without concerned citizens like them.”

Alan and his team provided bags and a list of items needed by ECCO to every resident of Belle Hall and hundreds of others throughout the Charleston area, and then personally picked up bags from anyone who requested it.
